They’re not alone…

“You know what my dad is doing right now? He’s getting drunk."

"You know how I know that’s what he's doing right now? Because he is always getting drunk!” Those were the words of a high school boy in my cabin at our recent summer camp. He continued to share his life of abuse and pain and the story of his drug addicted mom helping him become a drug dealer. Yet somehow, this kid, through a generous scholarship from a total stranger who didn’t know his story, ended up at camp with me. He wasn’t alone. Every boy in my cabin shared there own personal stories of abuse, hurt and abandonment. Several of them carry the physical and emotional scars of abuse and rage. Even though they'd all been through so much, by the end of camp, each boy professed Jesus as their Savior and agreed God loves them. The boys were able to see the love of God is much bigger than our current circumstances.

If you were one of the many people who gave scholarships for kids, prayed, or volunteered for our camps this summer, thank you! You eternally changed the future of many kids. We can’t always change kids’ current circumstances, but you changed these kids' forever circumstances.  Thank you!!
